Jessie Hodel is the head chef at Roughage Eatery, that specializes in vegan comfort food, with her business partner and wife Candice Tonelete.

At Roughage Eatery, they are all about taking traditional, comfort food recipes and giving them a plant-based spin. Making all mock meats and nut-based cheeses; everything is small-batch, hand-crafted and made in-house.

Jessie and Candice draw inspiration from their moms, grandma, titas, and lola’s recipes and the meals that their cultures created for the rest of the family.

“We pull ideas from cuisines around the globe”, says Hodel. “We love preparing good food and we want to feast your eyes and fill your stomach with something you’ll enjoy. Even the humble sandwich gets a makeover!”

Their versions of Mac and Cheeze, Filipino Tofu Tocino, Pancit, and Nachos, are just a few of the offerings that are available.
