Ink & Ochre

Janet La France has professional training in traditional animation and has developed an artistic style influenced by this as well as book illustration and 20th-century poster art.

She has illustrated more than seven children's books, several textbooks, posters, private commissions, and other projects. Her drawings are primarily created using a combination of pencil, watercolor, and ink. Janet is passionate about history, nature, and heritage, which inspire many of her illustrations.

She started Ink and Ochre in 2025 as a way to dedicate more time to her artistic practice. She is Métis, a registered citizen of the Manitoba Métis Federation and a member of the red river Métis business association.

All prints and stickers are scanned from original drawings and printed locally in Winnipeg.
